Precision Knitting: The Foundation of Every Blanket

At Jagdambe Textile Mills, every blanket starts on the knitting floor. We feed premium yarn through advanced circular knitting machines, interlacing each strand into a dense, uniform fabric base. This stage sets the tone for everything that follows — even loop formation, consistent thickness, and a strong foundation that holds up through years of use. It’s precision work: the tighter and more uniform the knit, the softer and more durable the final blanket.

Stentering & Polishing: Preparing the Fabric for Finishing

Stentering & Polishing

Once knitted, the fabric moves to stentering, where we set its width and stabilize the material for the stages ahead. This process aligns the fibers and controls shrinkage, so the fabric holds its shape through every wash. Next comes polishing — a light brushing and compression that smooths the surface and adds a subtle sheen, giving the fabric a softer hand feel and prepping it for dyeing or printing.

Printing & Dyeing

At this stage, we apply colors and patterns using eco-friendly dyes and precision screens or rollers, turning plain fabric into vibrant, customized designs. Every batch is closely monitored for consistency — patterns are precisely aligned and hues matched against design specs, ensuring strong color fastness and a finished look that holds up over time.

Washing & Dehydration

After printing, the fabric goes through a thorough wash to remove unfixed dye, chemicals, and impurities — a step that’s key to color stability and a soft hand feel. Advanced dehydration systems then remove excess moisture efficiently, without straining the fabric. Together, these steps refine the texture and clear out residual chemicals, setting the material up for the finishing stages ahead.

Secondary Stentering

After dyeing and washing, the fabric goes through a second stentering stage to lock in dimensional stability. This corrects any distortions picked up along the way, restores accurate width, and ensures consistent texture across the entire roll — setting the fabric up for finishing treatments like brushing and embossing.

Brushing & Polishing

This is where JTM blankets get their signature softness. Specialized brushing machines gently lift the fibers, raising a plush pile across the surface that boosts warmth and comfort. A final polishing pass smooths everything out further, refining the tactile feel and giving the fabric that luxurious, premium finish — both to touch and to look at.

Embossing

Heat-press rollers imprint decorative patterns onto the fabric surface, giving each blanket a distinctive texture without compromising softness or warmth. Beyond looks, embossing adds body to the fabric — improving thickness and structure — making the finished blanket more appealing on the retail shelf.

Sewing & Labelling

After finishing, the fabric is cut and sewn into blankets of various sizes, with precise stitching that ensures durability. Edges are reinforced for strength and longevity. Each blanket is then labelled with brand, size, care instructions, and material details, ensuring consistent product identification, compliance, and consumer convenience.
